About Us - Meet Courtney

I grew up in British Columbia in a very active, outdoorsy family, and that love of adventure has never left me.
I studied advanced farrier science at Olds College in 2009 and have
been a practicing farrier in Southern Alberta since 2010.

I have always had a deep passion for working with animals and in 2020 I officially launched my kennel, SS Sport Dogs—a playful nod to the chaos of life that comes with raising sporting dogs.

Our love for the outdoors- Traveling, hiking, fishing, Backcountry horse trips and most of all hunting have allowed us to bring our passion of dogs into our every day life.

Together with my two teenage kids we’ve built a breeding program focused on versatile, close-range hunting dogs that are equally suited to the field and active family homes.
