SS Sport Dogs is a kennel in Southern Alberta dedicated to bringing you your next hunting partner and adventure buddy, but ultimately the next member of your family. We bring you farm-raised English Setters, Picardy Spaniels, and Braque D'Auvergne.
We focus on sound structure, strong working instincts, and steady temperaments to produce versatile dogs that thrive in the field and at home.
We believe in Quality nutrition for all dogs - working and household companions alike, and are proud distributors of premium canine nutrition brands including Inukshuk and Perfectly Raw, helping fuel performance from puppyhood through prime.
At SS Sport Dogs, we believe great dogs are built through thoughtful breeding, proper nutrition, and a whole lot of time spent outdoors.

Almost two years ago, I listened to a podcast about Picardy Spaniels and immediately felt this might be the right breed for me. Out of excitement, I contacted a breeder in the United States who connected me with Courtney at SS Sport Dogs. From my very first conversation with her, the experience was exceptional. She welcomed my wife and me to meet the Picardys in her kennel so we could get acquainted with the breed.
As we eagerly awaited our puppy, Courtney kept us updated with regular photos and progress reports. When it came time to choose our pup, she guided us through each dog’s temperament and provided thoughtful, professional insight into which one would best fit our needs and lifestyle. That process led us to our “Archie,” and the positive experience didn’t end there.
Courtney has connected and maintained ongoing communication between all the litter’s owners and is always available for advice. Being part of the community she has built—and watching Archie’s littermates grow—has been a real joy. Her knowledge of the breed was also invaluable in Archie’s early development as a gun dog, especially her guidance on the unique considerations of working with Picardy Spaniels.
Archie has become an outstanding dog. His trainer and our NAVHDA chapter have both recognized his unlimited potential. His progress as both a working dog and a family companion would not be where it is today without Courtney and SS Sport Dogs. I can confidently say I’m now a Picardy Spaniel person, and I look forward to adding more dogs from SS Sport Dogs in the future.
